Yay! I know you’re happy that my weekly Smackdown analysis blog is back.
What’s that? Eye rolling?! I see you picking your nose in front of that computer screen. Okay jerk, you think you’re so cool?! You could at least ACT like you care about the triumphant return of my blog. All I do for you and still no respect.
…Okay enough with the awkward intro, the usual of yours truly. Yeah yeah yeah I’m getting around to the analysis part just hold your damn horses. There is one thing I’ve left to mention, I am only giving my analysis/comments on the in-ring portions of the show, not any backstage promos/occurrences, etc.
March 26, 2010:
The show opened with a BIG ASS Raw vs Smackdown match with all the guys who will be competing in Wrestlemania’s MITB Ladder Match in it. Kane, Ziggler, McIntyre, Hardy, Kingston, Bourne, Christian, MVP, Benjamin and Swagger. I think that’s it? Too many men in this match, I hate these, they’re like time fillers since no one in these midcard matches gets any kind of build up leading into the PPV. McIntyre has been pushed way too much lately though and I did like the ending when all the other guys pushed his ass off the ladder…wish he would have fell further so I could’ve laughed harder at him. Not much else to say about this, wasn’t paying too much attention to it.
We see Vickie backstage, heading to the ring for her match against Beth Phoenix. After the commercial break, Beth comes out and then Vickie does. Still very pissed off she doesn’t have theme music! She stays at the top of the ramp and announces it will now be 5 on 1. Wasn’t really into this. Was holding on to the slight hope that WWE wouldn’t let me down and I would actually see Vickie punch and kick and impress in her first match. Like Cherry vs Vickie from 2008, this wasn’t much of a match. She simply pinned Beth after the other females did the [boring and semi-botched] “dirty work”. WWE did the very predictable thing by having “the divas” come out to save Phoenix though being the “uber diva” and “most dominant diva” she had fought off all 4 women for awhile (as Vickie, of course, stayed out of harm’s way). At this point they hadn’t even made the dumb 10 Diva match for Wrestlemania. Okay even though it’s always great to see Vickie I haven’t much at this point and I’m bored. Before “the divas” (because it’s pointless to name them when they are just tits and asses in the eyes of WWE these days, getting no pushes unless they’re playing popsickle eater with one of the “main eventers”…or, Vince? Okay the thought of that just makes me want to PUKE) came out, Vickie did go to the top rope but I knew we weren’t going to see anything. Blah blah all the Divas are fighting and leave the ring, typical crap. Of course Vickie is left alone with Beth and is “defenseless with no where to run.” Vickie gets off the second rope and tries to get away at the last second as WWE usually does. Beth “accidently” PULLS OFF HER PANTS, exposing hot pink underwear with “excuse me” in rhinestones on the back!!! That was a memorable moment for sure! The most memorable of the night without a doubt (but that’s not hard at all) and something I feel with live on for years to come and be in Smackdown’s Greatest Moments of all Time in if they a DVD set for that in the future, which I’m sure they will as they could make a profit. Vickie tries to cover her buns, to no avail and runs to the back as Phoenix celebrates. Would’ve liked to see Vickie slap Beth or…SOMETHING after what she did! Surprised Smackdown’s answer to Kelly Kelly wasn’t on this week (Tiffany). Watch?
Jericho comes out and babbles on as usual about how Edge can’t beat him at the PPV and how Edge is still injured and has “inferior DNA.” I really miss Jericho as the really entertaining funny guy he used to be on the mike. This character is…just very annoying. ANYWAY, of course after awhile of falling asleep in my seat listening to the same old crap I’ve been hearing throughout this Wrestlemania buildup between Jericho and Edge, the challenger makes his way out to the ring. OF COURSE he tries to spear Jericho..as if we didn’t know it was coming. Please WWE, at least spice things up a LITTLE one of these days! So Jericho escapes the spear and runs off but “forgets” his title belt and Edge picks it up and poses with it. Edge will probably win at Wrestlemania. This was a particular quick segment…well after the Jericho babbling that is. It was rather annoying as it is a slight variation of EVERYTHING we have been seeing since February with these two.
I wasn’t paying attention and then suddenly Morrison and R-Truth are in the ring bragging each other up. Kinda dumb but their jokes about Miz and Big Show we’re kind of funny. I didn’t pay any attention to this match…I just…was bored. Afterall it couldn’t be much different than Morrison vs Miz from Monday’s Raw. Okay so I’m in the kitchen making peanut butter toast and my dad is talking to me about R-Truth saying ‘Didn’t this guy used to be on TNA? He looks familiar.” i said “Yes and he was also on WWE until 2001 as K-Kwik.” That’s about all I talked about this match except making a comment about how Show was in good shape for awhile but now he’s getting fat again. Apparently Morrison hit Miz with the Starship Pain, I didn’t see it but that’s what it says on the results. That and “the match never really started.” Oh what a main event that must have been! Come on WWE, what the f-yuck! You can do a little better than this can’t you?!
Voila! That concludes this edition of SMACKED UP! Do you agree with me entirely? Do you disagree with some of my comments? Do you want to beat me up for my “harsh judgment” of whats-her-name? Do you have anything at all to say about this edition of Smackdown or my analysis blog in general. If so, your comments are always welcome here and on the Cbox/tagboard!
